sweet buttercream frosting

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 lb unsalted butter
  • 1 lb powdered sugar (450g)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (or pudding mix)
  • 1 tbsp whipping cream
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt

FROSTING

Make sure all ingredients are room temperature, especially butter

  • Cream butter in stand mixer until creamy.
  • Add whipping cream, cornstarch, salt — don’t overmix.
  • Add the powdered sugar in two batches — don’t overmix.
  • Add vanilla and mix well.
  • Check consistency and add more cream or sugar as needed.

total mixing time should not exceed 5 minutes
